The tour begins at Palos Castle, a medieval fortress that witnessed the preparations for Columbus’ expedition. From there, visitors can visit the Muelle de las Carabelas, where replicas of the ships that made the historic voyage in 1492 are located. The route continues to the La Rábida Monumental Complex, which includes the Monastery of Santa María de La Rábida, where Columbus was welcomed, and the Celestino Mutis Botanical Park, a natural space that pays tribute to the Spanish botanist.
As you head towards the coast, you will reach Mazagón, a quiet coastal enclave offering more than 9 kilometres of fine white sandy beaches. The Church of San Jorge, the Martín Alonso Pinzón House Museum and the Naval Museum are also essential stops for understanding the historical context of the period.

To discover La Palma del Condado is to delve into centuries of living history, and one of the most original and enriching ways to do so is through its Dramatised Tour, an initiative promoted by the Town Council that allows visitors to explore the town from a cultural, informative and sensory perspective.
This tour takes us from the 16th century to the present day, guided by illustrious figures who have left their mark on the municipality. Along the route, visitors can come face to face with figures such as Miguel de Cervantes, the educator Manuel Siurot and Viscount Ignacio de Cepeda, who are brought to life by a team of actors and actresses who narrate and dramatise the most relevant events in the history of La Palma.
With a limited capacity of 30 people per group, the experience takes place in the streets of the historic centre, transforming the urban space into an open-air stage. Each stop becomes a window into the past, where historical accuracy is combined with careful staging to offer an entertaining, accessible and emotionally engaging narrative.
This dramatised route not only brings a new approach to local tourism, but also serves as a tool for heritage education that reinforces the cultural identity of La Palma del Condado. This interesting and curious route in Villa Luisa Park in La Palma del Condado pays tribute to poetry and different artists and writers linked to the city and works of art that recreate images known to the general public, not only from the municipality of La Palma, but also from a universal point of view: ‘Guernica’, ‘The Scream’, Cervantes’ symbolism, etc.
These murals were created by local artist Jacobo Palos Rodriguez. The artist brings these illustrious writers to life through the murals, breathing life into literature in this beautiful public space.
